I’m looking for a little help here.
In April (2010), my parents are coming to visit us in Sendai. We need some good places to go to in and around Sendai. They’ve come here once before, about 6 years ago. Then, we went down to Kyoto and Nara, so we didn’t spend much time in this area. We went on the sight-seeing boat in Matsushima and we went to Togatta.
I would really appreciate any great ideas.

東北でおすすめの場所は？
皆さんにちょっと助けてほしいことがあります。
来年の4月、私の両親が仙台にやって来ます。そこで、私たちは仙台やその周辺
で訪れるのにいい場所を探しています。彼らは6年ほど前に一度仙台に来たこと
があるのですが、その時は京都や奈良に行き観光に多くの時間を費やしたので、
仙台ではあまり時間を過ごしませんでした。松島で観光船に乗ったり、遠刈田温
泉に行ったくらいです。
もし皆さんから、私の両親に滞在を楽しんでもらうためのいいアイデアをいただ
けたら、大変ありがたく思います。（もしまだコメントに投稿したことが無い方
も、サインインは簡単ですのでぜひお願いします。）

お久しぶりです。
ちょっと見ていて思ったことを少々、、、
一番真っ先に思いついたのは当たり前すぎて見落としていないと思うけど
Steveの今すんでいる家や今働いているCheersを紹介したのかなあ？ということです。
やはり両親にとってはそこは非常に気になるところではないでしょうか？
あとは近すぎるからこそのケヤキ並木のアーケードとか。
次に観光でいいところといえば、私は嫁と金華山にいったとき
あそこの海は非常にきれいで眺めがよかったことを覚えています。
食事のことも問題なければ漁港も近いということもあり海産物が
おいしくもあるのですが、、、
ドライブコースとしても近くのコバルトラインからいい景観が見渡せます。
４月ならシーズン的な問題も絡みますが、大河原の桜並木もいいでしょう。
ほかの人からの意見も集まると思うのでとりあえずはこんな感じで。

I’m glad you reminded me about Kinkasan. I went there about 9 years ago and I really enjoyed it. I’d love to go again. It’s a very nice place. I loved the deer, the trees and the clean ocean. I didn’t see any monkeys when I went there, so maybe next time…
I’ve been thinking about the cherry blossom at Ogawara, but my parents are coming in late April and I’m not sure if the cherry blossom will still be in bloom at that time. I hope it is, because the cherry blossom is very Japanese.
I’m not really sure what the ‘Cobalt Line’ is – I’ll have to get some more information on that.

ホントに久しぶりですね！ご存知の通り、今年もCHEERSのクリスマスパーティー
が今月20日にあるんですよ。もし時間があればぜひ来てくださいね！
さて、私の質問に答えてくれてありがとう。
金華山のことを思い出させてくれて嬉しいです。私は確か9年ほど前に行ったこ
とがあり、とても楽しんだことを覚えています。ぜひまた行きたいです。本当に
いい場所ですよね。鹿や、豊かな木々や、きれいな海がとても気に入りました。
前回はそこで猿は見なかったのですが、今度行くときは見られるかも・・・
大河原の桜は私も考えていたのですが、両親が来るのは4月の下旬なので、その
頃まだ咲いているかどうか・・・そうだといいですけどね、だって桜はとても日
本的なものですから。
「コバルトライン」についてはあまり知らなかったので、もっと情報を集めてみ
ようと思います。

まだまだ寒いと思うので、やっぱり温泉なんかよいと思います。

まず、宿につくと、女性は好きな浴衣を選んで着れます♪
（色とりどりの浴衣があるので、きっとママは喜んでくれると思います）
お風呂も素敵な露天風呂もありますし、（私はお風呂に入りながらカモシカと目が合いました）
そしてお料理もとっても美味しくて、ボリューム満点です！！
おなかいっぱいになったのを覚えています。
まわりの景色も風情があって、よかったですよ～
私は冬に行ったので、雪景色が素敵でした。４月もまた、よい景色だと思います！！

Thanks for the ideas. There might be a football match to go to – I think the season starts in March. Vegalta Sendai have just finished champions of J2, so they’re back in J1 next year. It would be good to see them.
I don’t think we really have sumo in Sendai though…
