It’s Christmas soon (Yaay!), and Christmas songs have been on my mind – I hear Christmas songs all day at CHEERS and we’re having a party on Friday, where I’m sure we’ll sing a few Christmas songs. There are some Christmas songs that I honestly don’t enjoy: White Christmas just sounds sad to me, and The Christmas Song (“Chestnuts roasting on an open fire…”) is also a bit down. With that in mind, here are a few of my favourite – mostly happy – Christmas songs.

この単語英語で何て言うんだろう？って思うことって良くありますよね。
ひょんな事から思ったのが、
“切腹”
現代の日常会話ではあまり使われませんけど、つい最近調べるきっかけとなったある出来事が。。。
それはさておき、そう、“切腹” を辞書で調べると、
“hara-kiri”
なんですね～！
確かに腹を切ることですが、まさかこんな風に英語の辞書に出てくるなんて思いもしなかったので、ちょっぴり衝撃的でした(ﾟ∇ﾟ;)

Caitlinのお母様にはじめてお会いした日のことです。
CHEERSでお会いしたのですが、その時Caitlinはキッズクラスを担当中でした。
そのクラスが終わるのを待っていたあるお母さんが、
“My daughter really likes Caitlin.”
とCaitlinのお母様にお話していました。それを聞いて私が、
“Everybody likes Caitlin!”
と加えて言ったその一言に、Caitlinのお母さんは、
“I do, too!”
“私もよ！”って笑顔でおっしゃったのです。

I’m really enjoying my vacation.
Yesterday, my family and I went hiking to a small lake near my parents’ house. On the hike, we saw a lot of beautiful scenery, and I ate a lot of wild berries — they were delicious! Unfortunately, we didn’t see any wild animals (bears, wolves, puma). Of course, our dogs came with us on the hike, so they probably scared all the animals away. The lake is on a mountain, so there was a beautiful view from the top. Don’t worry, I took a lot of pictures.

On special days or times of the year, Google has special Google Doodles instead of their normal logo – maybe you’ve seen them. Yesterday, I was surprised to see this on Google’s home page – a special Google Doodle for Sendai’s Tanabata Festival.
